As a US citizen, I focus in on one comment or idea you mentioned - that about Chinese organizations actually Purchasing or acquiring in some legal manner the title for control of large tracs of agricultural lands that my government is designed to recognize and protect in a multitude of ways. You justify this practice as "Insurance" for China and its huge population of hungry peoples. Now, my point and position is - Why should My ancestors provide - in any permanent way - a vehicle for Food Security for folks in a far away land? This is when my hackles rise up and prepare for challenge. To the best of my limited knowledge, not many organizations or individuals from Western countries own, control or directly benefit from agriculture lands in China in any permanent or protected manner. Although sad, I see this divulgence of alleged rights and/or needs as a future Battleground that bids no happy outcome. And, let me take it a step further - here leaders - like wealthy Bill Gates and powerful associates - want ME to think about and accept eating artificial meat products (and BUGS) so that more lands can be used to produce more Plant based resources that feed more people and Save the earth, etc. So, flip the game and ask why must I, and my kids, give up beef, pork and chicken in order to raise more food for a bunch of folks in China? i really don't see a desirable trade off for me and mine. You might also ask what percentage of my country and other Western countries really give an honest Rat's ass about such nonsense. Also, Face Recognition is just another way a small league of privileged folks and their governmental stooges may Control more of everything by using smart technology.

Not likely or not for very long because of the impending AI revolution, increased robotization, and innovations like 3D printing which will kill export manufacturing. In terms of employment, India will then have too large of a population as a massive problem. Meanwhile, China will be struggling with an upside down aging pyramid for about 30 years before settling on a more sustainable population in terms of employment rates-something that they may or may not successfully achieve. Although India produces great, creative engineers, it’s generally acknowledged that China is superior technologically and has better quality control. Unfortunately, bad government policies and uncontrolled corruption holds back Indian genius. Yet, Xi ‘s prioritization of control over prosperity will backfire if not reversed by him or his successors.
